Tholos - Theologos on the west coast of Rhodes island

Tholos, sometimes called Theologos, is a magical combination of a colorful traditional village and a not bustling resort. In ancient times it was named Demos Istanion. There is a sprinkling of shops, tavernas, bars and restaurants around the hotels. Its excellent beach take up the Meltemi surf and can be breezy - ideal for windsurfers. In the village, the traditional way of life is still widely practiced and the very friendly people give a warm welcome to everybody. Don't miss to visit the picturesque Agios Spiridonas church, with it's lovely white bell tower. The old centre of Tholos is built in traditional Rhodian style. With tall shuttered buildings and narrow streets, it is a delight to wander through. Petaloudes, the valley of the butterflies is just 5 km away.
