Elousa village is a former Italien settlement

If you jump in a car and set off to explore the island you'll come across any number of lovely villages. One of them, Eleousa is a small traditional village, with typical traditional houses. 

There are two Tavernas, to satisfy even the most demanding customer. It's famous for the legendary Byzantine church, named Agios Nikolaos Foundoukli, which is situates a little outside the village. It is one of the oldest churches on the island, surrounded with deep green Pine trees. It was built in the fourteenth century. Inside the church is decorated with the most beautiful wall paintings. From Eleousa, there is a rough walking track to Profitis Ilias.
